There are SO many qualities one must posses or work very hard to obtain when starting a home-based business or ANY business for that matter. One needs, patience, focus, determination, business sense, business savvy, marketing skills, positive mindset, and the list goes on and on. But tonight I want to focus on the most crucial element of them all, POSITIVE MINDSET.

Without a positive mindset, all of the other qualities that I mentioned are rendered useless! It is the positive mindset that will drive your success in mastering the other very important qualities to have in your toolbox. Do you think that this is just a saying or a bunch of hype? Let me try to demonstrate this in the following example.

Let’s say that you are a parent. And for those of you that are not parents, just pretend you are. Let’s say that you are the parent of a 5 year old child who is currently in elementary school. One evening your son or daughter is sitting at the dinner table with you and the discussion about careers come up. We all know about that “What do you want to be when you grow up?” question right? What if your little one tells you “Mommy/Daddy I don’t want to think about those things because I am too stupid! I am too dumb to be a fireman or a lawyer or a doctor.” Would that not shock and anger you? Most parents I know would immediately tell that child that “You are smart!” and that “You can do ANYTHING that you put your mind too with hard work and dedication!” Am I right? We say these things because we realize how important it is to instill the right attitude…the right MINDSET so that the child stays determined and goes on to fulfill his or her dreams! But when it comes to an adults dreams to run a successful business or become a successful investor or achieve financial independence, all of the sudden that logic goes out the window! This is nonsense and it must be crushed in order to be a success.

You have to not only start telling yourself that you will be a success but you must start BELIEVING that you will become a success! You need to behave like you are a success and hang around people who are successful. Who you hang around with can greatly influence the type of success you have in life! Listen to inspirational speakers such as Mike Dillard or the FREE weekly inspirational calls from Dani Johnson. These people are proven success stories and they can motivate YOU to take the next steps.
